About

Stephanie Lamb

Stephanie uses a range of techniques to make her work, which include drawing, painting and photography.

With a background in the theatre, having trained as an actor, costume and set designer, as well as a teacher, at the New College of Speech and Drama, she later  worked in photography, film and television.

She went on to study painting at the The Byam Shaw School of Art, in London. Her key influences were he mentor Francis West, who very sadly died in 2015 and the Welsh artist and poet Mark Harrell.

Working out of the Blue Staircase Studios in North London, she established herself as a painter, exhibiting with fellow artists. Now in Amsterdam, where she has been living for twelve years, she continues to develop her practice.

Her work is both representational and abstract; the abstract language of form, colour and light enables her to express the way she sees, moving between the allegorical and the natural worlds, perpetualy re-imagined.
